The system comprises a temperature controller and a PTC temperature measuring element strategically placed at the top end of the low-voltage winding, the hottest spot in the product. This setup enables precise temperature measurement and control of the transformer, ensuring optimal performance.
In the event of high temperatures caused by overload or faults, the temperature controller promptly sends an alarm signal and automatically trips when the temperature exceeds safe levels. For transformers utilizing forced air cooling, the temperature controller regulates the cooling fan's operation based on the winding temperature, enhancing efficiency.
The temperature display system provides real-time monitoring of the winding's hot spot temperature during transformer operation, offering valuable insights for maintenance and performance optimization. This system can be seamlessly integrated with the temperature control setup.
For added flexibility, the temperature control and display systems can be installed at a distance from the transformer's main body. The lead wire length for the temperature measuring element is limited to <20m for temperature control and <10m for temperature display in a two-wire system, or <100m for a two-wire system with a compensating wire.
